We'll keep you posted!

Big-Brother-To-Be Aidan and Baby Baird's Ultrasound

Here is the best ultrasound photo we have of Baby Baird #2!  It's a BOY!  We're super excited!
This is him at 26 weeks, but he is measuring 28 weeks. This doesn't necessarily mean he's coming out early, just BIGGER! Aidan was 9lb, 4 oz, so we're counting on another big boy. Aidan got to come see the ultrasound, and commented that it looked like the baby was doing "karate" inside! (He thinks the baby's hand on the forehead is a "high block" like in his karate class.) And from all the kicking and movement I feel, I think he's right!

Above are a couple recent videos of Aidan. The first is playing baseball with Daddy and the second is at swim lessons, which he loves!

And below are some pictures from December through now.
With Grammy and Grampy (aka Nonny and Baba) before they left on their trip to Peru and Ecuador.

A Christmas visit from Grandma... and another garbage truck! (Aidan often says "Three trucks is not enough. Thirteen is enough.")

Riding the cable car with Aidan over the holidays

Riding his new bike at our local park

Riding into the sunset!

New Year's Eve at friend Kristie and Stephen's house. At these parties it's usually Aidan and lots of girls!

Kissing the belly at ~20 weeks along.

Someone still thinks he fits in here!

More bike riding! Aidan can't get enough of this recently!
Celebrating my "30+1" with friends
Our trip to Tahoe over my birthday weekend

Aidan went "tubing" for the first time

But even more exciting than that was Aidan's first ski lesson!

He did a good job learning to snow plow. If we ever take a trip to Sweden in the winter again, he'll be prepared!
Aidan breaking a board in his karate class. This was required as part of his test to earn his next belt.
We think Aidan even surprised himself when he broke it on the first try!

Being awarded his new orange belt

Aidan "Lincecum" Baird (Think Giants pitcher, for those of you not in SF)

Trying to strike Daddy out

Batting Practice

And just for fun: some recent "Aidanisms":

"Is today going to be another throw-up day, Mommy?" (since I'm occasionally still sick with the pregnancy)

"Gee whiz. You're stressing me!" (over pretty much anything we're hurrying him to do, like get his socks and shoes on as we rush out the door)

"People need to learn how to drive" (when someone made a turn in front of us on the road.)

"Hello Baby. I'm your big brother. When you come out, can we play football?" (Aidan loves to talk to the baby.)

Aidan has something to tell you!

"I'M THE BIG BROTHER!!!" says Aidan's shirt! (Well, big bro-to-be). We are due May 9th for Baby Baird #2! So far this one is giving me less nausea but more fatigue (though that might have something to do with now being the mother of a toddler and a resident!) We are so excited, though, and can't wait for Aidan to have a little brother or sister. We'll keep everyone posted!

Yes, I'm only ~13 weeks but clearly have a baby bump! No, it's not just "snacking" too much or having a beer belly.

And since I haven't gotten the chance to post since August, I thought I'd send along a few more pictures of our recent fun activities and what not...
Feeding hungry goats at Tilden Park in Berkeley

Riding the train at Tilden's Redwood Valley Railway
Playing with friend Julian at Crissy Beach

A visit from Auntie Janet and Uncle Dick Dwyer

Some recent artwork by Aidan

Two boys in Spiderman pajamas! Aidan's friend Julian came over for an evening.

Aidan and his friend Darren -his best bud at preschool

Aidan going on a pony ride at his first preschool field trip to a pumpkin patch

We even go to ride a big yellow bus there and back!

Aidan in his SF Giants Jersey (with whiskers from preschool face painting). We've watched nearly all the games. His favorite player is Buster Posey! We were all SO happy to see them win the World Series! Aidan's only question: "Why did they jump over the fence after the game instead of walking up the stairs?" Hard to explain just how excited they were.

Aidan just got his blue stripe in his Tang Soo Do class

Carving a pumpkin with Daddy!

HALLOWEEN NIGHT
Aidan with friends Charlotte, Delaney and Harper

The whole crew out trick-or-treating.
"NO MORE PICTURES!" say the kids!

The 3 (well, 4) Bairds. Aidan the chef, Mommy the hippy, Daddy as Brian Wilson (SF Giants Pitcher)

And of course, the night would not be complete without trick-or-treating at Nonny and Baba's!

Tuckered out at the end of the night!

And lastly, some recent "Aidanisms"

--"It was a couple whiles ago....'
--"Yes, dear." (gets this one from my parents)
--"What did you do at preschool, Aidan?" "Just sit around and twiddle my fingers"
--"When I was a little I used to..."
--"When I was a kid... now I'm a boy..."
