Aidan is TWO!!!

Announcing the newest two year old on the block.... yep, as of March 20, 2009, Aidan is TWO! We look forward to an adventurous year ahead. So far, so good.... it's certainly not "terrible" (yet)... in fact, we've had a lot of fun recently! Here are some pictures we wanted to share with you--we are so thankful to have a sweet, loving, and happy child...and so many friends and family who love him too.

Doing "1-2-3 JUMP" with Grammy and Grampy as we headed to Chow in San Francisco to chow down on his birthday night.
Aidan blowing out his candle on his pumpkin cake (complete with ginger ice cream)....
And he seemed to have NO PROBLEM putting it away!

He also enjoyed Mommy's train cake at his Thomas the Train birthday party on Sunday the 22nd.

Again, no problem enjoying the cake. I think he got Mommy's sweet tooth (a Morris thing, I hear).
What a sweet, innocent smile... nothing terrible about THIS two year old!
Posing with Grams, who visited from Bakersfield for the event.
Aidan's grandpas enjoying the celebration...
One happy Grammy!!!
One happy birthday boy!!!

Reading a book to Aidan and 2 of his guests (he had 6 little kids at his party!)
Giving a hug to his best friend Julian as Aidan says goodbye. Aidan LOVES to hug!!!

The last of Sweden... and then Germany!

Our last few days in Sweden were the best of the trip... we went snowmobiling and got stuck out in the woods, which was quite an adventure but was a blast. Aidan called it the "snow choo choo" and loved going fast. He cried when we stopped! We went to the Moose Garden where we were given a personal tour ( the only tourists in Ostersund this time of year!) and got to pet about 9 moose! We also to a Swedish "bath house" where there was an awesome kiddie swimming area as well as saunas, pools and spas for the adults. Aidan loved going down the waterslides and under the waterfalls. He was just as happy to go back to the Shorts' and play in the snow though... he has become quite adaptable!

In front of the cabin where we went skiing
The Moose Garden... they were quite big, but very docile!

Having fun with Uncle John

Olivia checking out Aidan-- will I be THAT big someday?

James even got a taste of shoveling snow!
Visiting Aunt Louise's preschool...Aidan fit right in.

We had 3 days with our friend Suzie in Germany... and really enjoyed our time there. You can see a few castles here we visited. The best part, though, was just spending time with she and her boyfriend Mike, as well as Yvonne's husband Sascha. We ate out and had great German beer and food.

Cheers!
Having a snack in Heidelberg

Aufiderzein Germany!

It was hard to come home but we are now settled back in San Francisco, and after all that snow we will stop complaining that it gets cold here!

Hej från Sverige!

We have been in Östersund, Sweden for over a week now and our vacation couldn't be better. We are having a wonderful time staying with the Shorts, and the best part has been getting to know baby Olivia! I even got to be here for her baby shower! Aidan has been a trooper with the time change and scenery change, especially considering that the snow on the ground is taller than him! There is more snow here now than there has been in the nearly 20 years the Shorts have lived here. We've really been enjoying it though...sledding, skiing, snowmobiling, staying in a cabin in the woods, driving through the countryside to Norway, and going on a husky dog sled over the frozen lake in town. Even playing in the backyard with a shovel and bucket in the snow is a blast. Aidan is getting more used to it now, and instead of saying "all done" right away, he now says "one more minute!" when I tell him its time to go inside. I´ve gotten to see the pediatric wards of the hospital here and James is currently at the police department doing a ride-along with their canine unit and even a fly-along up in their helicopter!!! Needless to say,
we are very lucky to have such good friends (family) here to host us...and we don´t want to go home!!!
